Signs your display (not just the glass) is damaged Black screen — phone turns on, makes sounds, but shows nothing. Vertical or horizontal lines — coloured or black bands that spread over time. Bleeding & blotches — spreading black ink-like patches or purple/rainbow bleeding from a corner or crack. Discolouration — a yellow, green or pink tint, or a permanently dim/bright zone. Flickering — the image strobes or pulses, often before a full failure. Half-dead display — one half works, the other is black or frozen. Burn-in / image retention — on OLED, a faint ghost of a static image (status bar, keyboard) stays visible. If your touch works but the picture is wrong , it's a display fault. Most display faults come from drops (impact cracks the panel internally even when the glass survives), pressure (sitting on the phone, an over-tight bag), liquid (moisture seeps under the glass and attacks the panel), and heat . Frequently asked questions What's the difference between a screen repair and an LCD repair? They're closely related. "Screen repair" usually refers to cracked outer glass; "LCD/display repair" refers to the panel that makes the picture (black screen, lines, bleeding). On most modern phones these are one fused part, so the fix is the same assembly — we'll confirm what your model needs. My glass isn't cracked but the screen is black — why? Impact or liquid can kill the display panel without visibly breaking the glass. The display connector can also come loose. We diagnose it for free and only replace what's actually faulty. Can OLED burn-in be fixed? Burn-in is permanent physical wear of the OLED pixels, so it can't be "reset" in software — the fix is a new display.
