iOS 14.5.1 Features and Updates

Apple has recently released update i0S 14.5.1 to the public on 3rd May 2021. The previous update i0S 14.5 was released just one week before the new update. This new software is compatible with all devices that support i0S 14. It is a massive update that stands at 1.27 GB. Along with i0S 14.5.1, Apple also released iPadOS 14.5.1, watch0S 7.4.1, And MacOS Big Sur 11.3.1. Also, Apple released i0S 12.5.3 for older devices.

What's New?

• App Tracking

This update solves an issue with App Tracking transparency. Privacy of users has been the main priority of Apple and with that in mind, they have made some changes to the app tracking features. It makes the tracking transparent and involves a lot of popups to stop the application from tracking information.

• Unlock iPhone from Apple Watch

Apple has also kept in mind the safety of its users and in times of this global pandemic, if you're wearing a face mask covering your mouth and nose, you can now use your apple watch to unlock your iPhone without having to remove the mask. Unlocking with apple watch works with Apple Watch Series 3 and later models.

• Security Bug Fix

The new update also fixes two serious security flaws. Both are for WebKit (the browser engine that powers Safari) and they allow hackers to execute malicious code on the device. Such vulnerabilities are common, but what makes them stand out is Apple's admission that both may have been actively exploited which explains the urgency of this update.
