Why Samsung might end the Note Series lineup

However, in hindsight, it was to be expected that there would not be a new Note series phone this year. Due to several Samsung flagship smartphones releases like the Samsung Galaxy S21 range, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3, and the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3, the unveiling of the new flagship smartphone would be taking in too much even for the tech giant Samsung. In addition, the chipset shortage might have also played a role in the phone’s delay.

Reasons for the end of Note Series Lineup

Although the end of the Note Series lineup would upset many Samsung fans, the Note series did have its fanbase. However, Samsung has included S Pen compatibility to phones like Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3. Therefore, the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE’s upcoming phone could also follow the Samsung Galaxy Note 20.

The primary specialty of the Note series has always been the inclusion of the bigger screen and S pen compatibility. Since the S-series lineup already has a large display equivalent to the Note series device. And Samsung provides S Pen compatibility to other devices. So we sense this as bread crumbs laid by Samsung to end the lineup altogether.

Samsung might provide the same S Pen compatibility to its Fold series and S-series flagship devices and sell it as an accessory to those who need it. Since the inclusion of the S Pen also hindered the battery size in the Note platform, this might be the reason for Samsung to accessorise the S Pen like Apple to its Apple Pencil. This might be why Samsung ends the Note Series lineup; however, we can’t be confident of this until Samsung confirms this officially.

Rumour for Note 22 Series release

Some rumours are surrounding the release of the Note 22 in 2022. However, we think the Samsung Note Series might come to a halt eventually. However, Samsung might end the lineup only after the Samsung Galaxy Note 22 in the coming year.

Besides the rumours of the Note 22, there aren’t any specific leaks that suggest the specification and features of the upcoming Note device. Though, it is inevitable that the phone will have S Pen included. In addition, the Note Plus and Ultra models are sure to accompany the Note 22 if it is released in the coming year.

We might also get an under-display camera that Samsung is rumoured to be working on. The under-display camera for its handsets debuted with the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3. So we are confident that the upcoming Note Series device will feature the next generation under-display camera in the following Note Series lineup.

The Note Series is also anticipated to have a high-performance processor. As a result, US consumers are likely to get the latest Qualcomm processor, and consumers from most other areas will get the latest Samsung Exynos chipset.

In addition, the Samsung Galaxy S22 is rumoured to have a Galaxy S22 Ultra, which might serve as a replacement for the Note series. As a result, it might be dubbed the Galaxy S22 Note, according to specific reports.

Potential Features on the Note 22:

Qualcomm Snapdragon Processors

Samsung often uses different chipsets in its Note phones depending on the area, with Snapdragon in the US and Exynos in the rest of the globe. The issue with the two different chipsets is that they are never equal, hence one phone version is always preferable to the other.

It's been the Snapdragon chipset in previous years which was the better of the two, therefore it would be preferable to us as users if all the variants of the Samsung Galaxy Note 22 use whatever Snapdragon processor is best at the time.

Glass Back throughout the Note 22 lineup

We do get the glass back on the top variant of the Note series. However, the base variant is always stuck with a plastic back. This time around, the Note series might get a glass back throughout the lineup.

Screen with 120Hz refresh rate

Similar to the glass back, the Ultra model in the Note lineup got a 120Hz refresh rate on the screen. This time, the base variant could get this upgrade as well. There are phones out there that provide refresh rates to alter depending upon the use of the phone which would be most welcome on the upcoming Note series.

Improved Charging Speed

Though we got a good battery life out of the old Note 20 series, the charging speed was not up to the mart of the flagship product. This time around, Samsung might provide faster-charging speeds on their upcoming models. As the competition on charging capability is high, Samsung could be a worthy contender with good charging specs if not the winner.

Better Cameras

Cameras in the previous Note series have not been the best when compared with other flagships by other manufacturers. Even, the S-series lineup had far better camera capabilities when compared with the Note lineup.

These are all the upgrades that would make the upcoming Note series device to be one of the best phones to buy. With additional features like S Pen and its compatibility, the Note device has always set itself apart from the competition. Follow us for more updates regarding the releases from Samsung.
